How To Use Transpire

Transpire work well with drums, and percussive instrument, never said you can’t use it on other instruments, try and you might be lucky with a good result.

I will be using this tool on my drum bus, I layered two kick and this is how they sound individually:

Hmm, Thinking the layered kick sound huge? Maybe!

Let’s do some testing with the Transpire Compressor, load Transpire on the drum bus, and follow this step below:

Bring up the Attack Knob to about 4.5 (This would depend on your samples)
Bring up the Sustain knob to about 3.0 as this would further enhance the Kick
The sensitivity determines the amount of details, love using around 0.6 for drums and lastly
Set output gain at around 0.5db.

9) S.L.A.X

This is a compressor tool that has an aggressive and dark character, this plugin is best used for Drums, Bass, Vocals and Acoustic Guitars.

One of the features I like about this plugin is that, when the output limiter exceed -0.1dbfs, the output limiter indicator turns on, this implies no signal can get past -0.1dbfs,

It as two so-called ” Filters Spring Resonance. ” This system uses a very fast spring resonance algorithm controlled by the audio input signal and frequencies, which acts as either a low pass filter or a high pass. Some of the properties of these ” springs ” can be adjusted for each filter by using the three smaller knobs.

The’Energy’and’ E-Curve ‘ keys define how much energy a spring accumulates and how quickly it responds to changes in the audio frequencies input. The ‘ Damping’ knob determines how quickly the self-oscillations die. For example, setting the damping to very low with high energy settings makes the filter ” sing ” because it constantly oscillates around the frequencies of the audio input. 23) SKQ-01

The SKQ-01 is a more extreme approach to FM synthesis, offering nine different waveforms as well as PWM (Pulse-Width-Modulation) and allows you to create the noisiest and loud bass lines from trippy FM pads.

In addition to the FM synthesis mode, the synth can also be switched to a normal synthesis mode so that the two oscillators can be laid for a pleasant full sound that is suitable for things like large pads.
